    The backwards airbox.....now with pics

Since I have time to kill on my 250R yet, I figured I'd science out a few things while waiting on the last of my parts.
I switched out my stock 86 carb and reed cage for a 38PWK, and a CR reed cage.
I also went to a clamp-on K&N filter, and tube setup.
One thing bothered me......that open filter being out back by all that churned up earth.
I decided to enclose it with an aluminum airbox deal, but that didn't pan out.
What I did was use the stock airbox backwards.
By removing the inlet tube to the frame, I found I could get the filter through the hole on the airbox where the inlet tube was.
Leaving it in the stock location, but with the front tilted down, I was able to fab some PVC from the carb to the filter in the airbox. I plan on having an aluminum setup made, now that I have the proper bends and all to make it work in PVC.
The original feed to the carb is now the intake for the airbox, and the original intake feeds the carb. So, as the post title says, I'm using the airbox backwards, which by the way leaves a pretty good size hole where the stock inlet tube clamped on.
I plan on filtering the inlet hole once I figure what to use.
I wil post pics tomorrow of the set-up.

As promised........here are a few pics
The PVC is now flat black, and looks much better.
I still have a little fine tuning of the fitment yet, but it works!
I'm thinking of covering the inlet hole with Outerware material by clamping it.
