    1995 Polaris XCR 600

How are these sleds? Reliable? Speed (I'm sure they have alot) and other things. I may have a chance to get one for 500$ thats in decent shape.

The XCR600 is a decent machine. It was pretty much the fastest Polaris machine at the time it was made, hence the XCR (Cross Country Racing) designation. It'll go a good 105+ mph if you have a long straight and it's in good shape mechanic-wise. A more realistic number to be aiming for is around 90 mph though. The Polaris machines were pretty reliable. I don't really like the ergonomics on their older sleds though. The seats were too square and the bars too low, you'll need at least a 3 inch riser to get the bars anywhere near comfortable.

I'd say do it for 500 bucks, if you have enough snow to actually use it.

Ive heard good things about them too, and heck for a running rideable sled thats newer than 1985, $500 is a good deal. Does it come with clean paperwork? if so, I would definitly go for it.

Well, I'm taking the check book and going to check her out tomarrow. The paper work is clean, it was fully legal last season ( the guy is a club rider). He said the front end needs new bushings, but I can get that through my friend for 15$. Hopefully all goes as planned.

Here she be. The bumper is bent, but thats no biggie. The track has 2 studs ripped out, but it is getting replaced with a 1 1/4 lug track within the month. It runs really well, I'll probably take the carbs out and rebuild them. Tell me what ya think.

Pretty hot, especially for 5 Benjamins. I didn't know it was a triple... I wonder if XLT pipes would fit on it...

Edit: D'oh, of course XLT pipes will fit. THE FREAKIN' ENGINE SAYS "XLT" RIGHT ON IT.

nice man u stole that thing!
its too bad its got some pink on it tho
deffinetally cant go wrong for 500 bones tho, i got my old 87 indy 600 triple for 450 and i thought mine was a good deal!, but compared to urs, i got jipped! lol
how many miles on it? hows she run? not sure if your already familiar with them or not but they RIPPP pretty good! you wont be disappointed with it if its in as good of shape as it looks! if u want to put a lil $$ into her grab some pipes for it, i have PSI's on mine and they made a world of difference! very loud but thats what i like, its not ridiculously loud tho still sounds niiice..wait till winter and u can turn around and sell it for $1000-$1200 and get urself somethin nicer and manly lookin instead of pink lol, anyway, nice steal!

It has 3500 miles on it, runs good, starts right up 2nd pull. I toke it around the yard and it seems to have some nut. Its a bit more than I wanted, I was shooting for a XCR/XCF 440. A 440 has always fitted my riding style, but I guess I'll see how this does.

If you're gonna put pipes on it, remember that XLT motors were prone to blowing up the crank when you actually get decent power out of them due to a crappy crank bearing design. Just a warning.

BUT THEY SOUND SO GOOD PIPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!!!!!. i have a 96 xc600 triple with psi pipes that dump out the side! its frickin tight. but i took out the middle piston at the end of last season so i got it apart now and plan on finding a rebuilt crank or have mine rebuilt while its apart.
