    w00t!! Getting a 92 Indy 500 EFI SKS!!!

Well I found a guy that has a snowmachine on craigslist, 92 Indy 500, liquid cooled, EFI, Snow King Special, with in my price range. I called him up and he said its missing a few things but should run and drive...it did when he bought it but he hasnt done anything with it for a while, so he doesnt know for sure if it still does. Apparantly its missing the cowl, seat, handlebars and controls, but he says everything else is there and is in good condition. Picking it up in about an hour or so, Ill post pics when I get it home.

How much are you paying for it? From what it sounds, I would probably estimate 300~400 dollars.

Pulled it home for 200$!!! Not exactly what Id call perfect, but definately more then 200$ worth of parts. Motor has enough compression to break your arm almost. Spins over like its new. Even got a seat with it, its off a 97 indy, has wraparound taillights and even a 10 gal tank with it. Has handlebars too. I think I pretty much have all the parts that I need lined up, so this should be going in no time. Even has a custom 3" lift in the back. But the wimpy 5/8 track needs to go!!!

Sad part is, is that this used to be in very good condition and ran great (so I was told), then one of the intake boots cracked, so the guy started parting it out, and this guy I bought it from saved it from further dismantling. Hoping I can get it pieced back together and somewhat reliable over the next few years. Still has tons of miles left on her!!!!

Pics tomorrow unless people are desperate enough, then Ill go take some crappy dark ones.

WTF Parting out a sled just because of a torn intake boot? Those are a dime a dozen, take one off of any Polaris machine ever made and it'll probably work fine!

Take pics if it's not too cold out! We've got snow and ice out here already!

Yeah, I thought that was kinda stupid to do that, especially since intake boots are like 10$ new. Ill go get pics but they might be too dark.

This POS camera cant take pics worth a damn, out of 22 these are the only ones that came out recognizable.

I also forgot its missing the drive clutch, but I have a spare from my Trail Boss, will this one fit?

I don't know for sure if a Polaris ATV clutch will work. That looks just like the crappy Gen II Indy 500 I have sitting in my front yard, waiting to be towed away to a friend's house. If you want any spare parts for the engine or a primary clutch, I can probably get you one for nice and cheap.

Well I think between a few people I have most of the parts for this beast accounted for...I have a list of things that its needs or needs done:

    drive clutch
track rails (gettin new suspension setup anyway)
    seat and tank changed
    EFI cleaned
    new intake boot
    new rope in starter
    everything to do with reverse
    handlebar controls
    cowling/windshield
    light
    gauges
mount airbox and exhaust, connect lines and wires, etc
getting a better track and a 12 suspension
    caliper assembled
    handlebar risers
    random crap
    CLEAN IT UP!!!!
    and more to come....

Ill try and get some more pics tomorrow, I didnt get home early enough to get them today.

Sorry there, bro. Looks like the gauges won't plug in without some wiring work.

Ordered one 2 days ago, I gotta run back up to the Polaris shop and exchange the key switch (gave me the wrong one), and Ill see when the boot will be in. I gotta pick up some plugs anyway.

I also got my new chaincase today, it was a PITA to get it off the old machine, but it comes with the caliper, disc, and master cylinder, another dash plate, and exhaust mount all for 40$!!!

I still need to do some riveting to it though, and possibly a new chain. I have a seat and tank cover (75$) and complete chaincase (with ALL the reverse parts- 50$) lined up so that area will be covered.

Hey there Nick! I talked to my dad and he's not in the position to get free shipping, so that's out the window. I'll weigh everything (shipping depends on size and weight) and inform you on price, I hope we still have a deal going though. I ordered a bunch of parts for my dirt bike today, so I have to get cracking and get some money before my COD order comes in!

    Good working with you!
