im using the same carb the only thing i se is rejetting but thats simple you will also have to stretch the intake boot but other than that its an excellent upgrade. good luck.

yes the carb from an 87 TRX is heck of an update from the stock 82.

I would buy a new pipe for the R, rejet the 87 carb, and you'll feel a BIG difference.

If you go on bike bandit oem parts you can buy an 85 odyssey fl350 intake boot for $35.00 and that carb will slide right in thats what I use.

As long as you don't plan on riding in really muddy or wet conditions, a clamp on filter will be fine with no air box. Lots of guys do it, they just don't run it harsh conditions like I said. You'll definitely have to re-jet for that though, and I'm not familiar with the standard jet sizes in the 250R carbs, so I can't help with that.
For the pictures, host them on a site like www.photobucket.com and them copy and past the [img] code it gives you.

wheres the intake leak at? you might be able to make a gasket and silicone to do a temporary fix. see the carb jetting thread. http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/s...ad.php?t=55086 you can run a external filter, it will just get dirtier faster, dont ride in mud or water, and i suggest a pre filter. to change you pictures go to a image editing program other then paint on your computer (not internet) go to tools or image or something like that and click "resize image" and change the size.
