Where are the Mint 85/86 Quadracers????

Being a collector over the years I have seen super nice low hour examples of some of the most popular rides..2, 3, and 4 wheelers....I have not come across ANY very low hour, no paint worn off 85 /86 suzuki quadracers....

    HAS ANYONE HERE ????

I have never seen one... They are usually passed through several owners at a cheap price and beaten into the ground... All the clean ones I have seen have been partially or fully restored...

I agree. There is a perception that the 85-86 models were junk from the start, so they aren't treated with much respect in regards to the 87-92s. I've seen a few clean ones, but even they were beat on pretty hard and abused. Most people just don't care about them too much. It's sad that they have a stigma for no other reason than people think they're crap because they're not Hondas.

I have the utmost respect for zukes, I have 2 of them, ALT125's, the engines took disgusting beatings, mud, dirt, water, you name it, only thing that got ruined on em were the rings. 15 years of sitting, they started up after a carb cleanup.

However, after owning my first honda, I do believe the craftsmanship is superior, just taking apart a rusted to *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* honda, having no screw break, even get stuck, that's a well built machine, even looking like this , I managed to take everything apart, hell, even the master link on the chain came off!.

Oh yea, the only thing I broke during the teardown was the muffler, but I knew it was gonna break, considering it was missing a chunk of itself already .

zuki didnt come out with qracer till 84, and it was an 85 model. at the time it was the only quad that was yellow. the rest were the quadsport, originally orange, and the quadrunners, basically the same color, maybe a bit more on the reddish side.

I prefer the stock of the 85/86 look as always but I saw a few pics in the old mags of the flat track kits for them....... where they put the same real wide hoosiers on the FRONT as well as the back....looked sweeeet!!!!!

I learned to ride on an 85. That bike took one hell of a beating, we changed the piston a few times but besides that i was so hard on that and so was the other owner, i loved it but i didnt treat it with respect or look after it. So yeah i see what you mean.
