    picked up an 86 200x

    I just got this yesterday thanks to a Google search that pointed me to a craigslist ad. Its got a UNI filter, some crappy handlegrips, and a beat up muffler that actually sounds pretty good but is a cob-job, so it will get replaced with a Cobra or something silimiar. It will get new plastic and stickers, seat cover, tank shrouds, and the tank will get the syko treatment(if hes willing). It runs great and starts in one kick cold, with no choke. My 350x could learn from that!

    that silencer is great ill take it if your getting rid of it its a supertrap with a spark arrestor nice and stealthy i have a stock on my 85 wich is quite but not alot of power!

    Now its got new plastics/stickers/seat cover, fork boots and seals, tank shrouds, Dunlop KT335tires(23x8x11 front and 20x10x9 rear), DG exhaust(didnt like at first), PRM grab bar, and a working headlight!
    Do you think itd look better with a stock "ATC/ HONDA" seatcover?




    Its got some 'clanking' noise upon acceleration/deceleration coming from what I think is the clutch basket. Ill be tearing into it once I get my 350x together.

    What did you do with the SuperTrapp?
    current rides
    84 200x - being rebuilt-supertrapp exhaust, uni air filter, hopefully a 10.5 to 1 piston
    84 big red - cobra exhaust, custom head lights
    83 185s - 200e engine, cobra exhaust
    82 yz 60 - engine is out supposedly needs piston and rings

    Glad to see it didn't go to waste. Hows the dg sound on it compared to the supertrapp?

    Can you still get these? I have been kicking around making my '84 look like an '85 since I like the red/blue combo better than the red/black combo. All I see on eBay are solid blue seat covers. I want one with 200X on the side of it like the '85 oem.

    LoL I like the "OUCH" on the old plastics! Sadly they look like they're in better condition than mine. Did you change the tank also?
