    cleaning aluminum

    Hi Guys:

Gonna start working on my 250es this weekend. This atc has sat outside for years and the aluminum looks really bad. I have used simichrome and steel wool on my Harley, but this will take something way more "industrial strength" than that.

I would like to hear what you guys use for difficult aluminum cleanup.

I'll have some pictures of my project up soon, and I really appreciate your input.

    Thanks

    The Boltman

go to your local auto parts store and get some Eagle One aluminum wheel cleaner. It is an acidic etching solution. I use it to clean up the engines after a muddy ride. I leave it on for the average of 5 minutes on a cold engine. It is a spray on and hose off application Polished surfaces do not like it.
