cut the wires, Tape/ziptie them up out of the way. The Fcr carbs are just a TPS (throttle position senser) and it dosent affect the function of the carb at all, On the 04/5 trx carb one is a tps, the other is a fuel heater (dont ask me about that one) and i have never hooked them up.

think of a hot start as the opposit of a choke

a choke is for cold starting....a hot start is just that, if the motor is hot and its a pain to start you just hit the hot start.

    2012.....Replaced the 350x motor for a 444cc YZ426

well instead of makeing a richer mix like a choke the hot start will let air in (leaner mix)

if you dont have a problem with starting it hot then just dont use it or worry about it.

on a large (460cc) 350x motor it is a handy thing to have.

Buy the 450r switch pod like I did and you can connect the cables... The hot start I mean. Buy a 450r throttle and the cable will connect no problem. I have a near brand new 450r twisty if anyone wants it. Very cheap. 20 shipped. Less than 10 minutes on it.

If you use a 06 and ^ trx450 cable, it will go right in. You only use the pull side. And you close up the other side (with silicone) where the close cable would go.

The hot start just lets more air past the carb, just like swigin said. This makes the mixutre leaner. Easyer to start under hot conditions.

Really you dont need the choke with the acclerator pump carbs. Just pump the gas 2 times and bam, its done.

This 450 carb sounds like a great set up. I like my 38 but the X can be a bear to start sometimes when its been going for a while and is good and hot.

    NO NO NO

You want the cr250r carb...which is a 37mm. You don't want the 41/42. the first problem with the 450r carb is fitment...the next problem is that it's all top end.

NOS-350x did it...I had already purchased one by the time I read his review, I did it...and it really is too much carb for a stock sized engine.

big bore with heavy portwork and such might be a different story, but on the stocker, it's too much.

Those are the carbs that you want.

The 450 carbs are going to be too much, Even for a big bore, these are old engines, they dont rev like the new ones so the huge carb is unnessary when your engien isnt capable of getting rpm's to get the advantages of a huge carb.

Ahhh. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll just keep my 38 then.

can someone explain to me what the hell all of the jets do? I see the pilot, I see the main, I know the needle. Now there are two other jets I don't understand. One...NEXT to the pilot, a short mikuni style. The other in the carb intake coming from the airbox.

what are they, and what should they be tuned at?
