I bought what they had left, 9 or 10 pipes and like 6 intakes, but that was 3 years ago. They didn't have anything else left. Do you ever run across any on the Mugen parts when your looking for some of the vintage CR's?

Sudco had and sold out of the 3rd gen 250R Mugen suspension kits in the late 90s. I know Chris D ended up with a set and I think a few other members here as well.

I sure wish I could run across one of those Mugen casted 250R cylinders. I'd give my left nut for one.

Ok well here is the best photo I have close up.I notice the Phase 5 pipe has a "bell" at the silencer area.
If you look close at the attached pic, (the Yellow Z) It has that same "bell" at the sliencer.

I have since mounted this pipe on my bigbore Tri-Z.(This black one)

I had a DG on it,and it choked out the top end. So when I put this "Mystery pipe" on there,
It had a ton more top end pull, and revved more freely.

Can you tell by looking, if it is Your pipe?
I was told it may be a Cobra, or Answer.
I would really like to know what it is.Looking at your pic, it looks very close.
    Thanks

    That would help Mike.

I was just looking thru a old 86 Magazine I have here, and there is a pic of a "Scorcher" pipe that looks very familiar to my pipe as well.

I would really like to know what pipe I have.

    EDIT.....
Just did a search and found this thread.I got this pipe from Derrick and it has that same dent in it he speaks of.

    Phase 5 Then?

phasefive Has anyone tried Sudco.com for their Mugen ATC parts? They were one of the Mugen importers, and had some pipes and misc stuff left not too long ago... It would be worth a call.
    Scott
Sudco was cleared out years ago. I bought front and rear Mugen suspension for $100 a piece from their "closeout list" in the late 1990s. There are a few of them around, but I think that Pete (from the UK) cleaned them out. JohnR has a set, 250Rfan has a couple sets, etc. Pete is the ultimate guru on the Mugen parts though. He has cylinders too.

I was fortunate enough to buy a Honda R from a racer that quit when the stopped racing ATC's. I bought it from him in 1988. So there is hope that they are still out there. For those doubters, I can truthfully say that there may be a couple race bikes still in existence.

I don't have any picutures of when I bought it, but this was the real deal. It was raced out of Ayres Honda in Middletown NY. I remember answering the ad in the paper for a "retiring racer" selling a 1986 ATC250R. I went to his house and my jaw dropped.

It was in the garage with number plates all over it, slammed for flat track and the guy started pulling out box after box of parts, Hoosiers, ice tires, extra motors, swingarms, the stock tank in brand new condition, pipes, carbs, chains, sprockets, cylinders, pistons, cables, clutches, everything. I bought it all for $1600. This was not a privateer. It had way too much money in it. It has pictures and trophies of the bike all over the dealership. It had a Paul Turner motor and pipe, a Coffmans silencer, reeds, CR intake, a bored over PJ carb, K&N, tether kill switch, everything... sorry, no Phase Five though.

These pictures are after I molested it as a 16 year old, but if you look at the detail, you will see all the goodies. It was sick....anyway I traded it for a car in college and never saw it again. Sorry for the dead lead, but it helped me build my race bike. I have included pics of that too.

My bike (before I owned it) is the number 19 on the far left.

This was in 1989 on the ice in NY with my buddy's 350X. I put white Maier fenders and short track tank shrouds on it.

This was in 1991 before I traded it away.....

here is a pic in 1991 of a ride in Sterling Forest NY. My R had the original flat track shrouds on it, but had my friends rear fenders from is 85 R on it (if you look close it has the #20 on them). As you can see, it was VERY WET that day and I opted to borrow his full fenders. My original #19 fenders were on the other R next to my bike. I had the stock tires on it with the rims turned around for the woods.

    Here is today....

I copied everything I knew from the R I owned as a teenager and improved where I could.

where did you get the gold forks?
A Rental Car is the only true all-terrain vehicle.
" I actually think it is good that you have clubs where people can go and enjoy riding these things together. It reminds me of how the prisoners on death row have fun waiting for their turn on the electric chair. Fair enough, the trike isn't an electric chair, but it is about as safe and comfortable as one."

It looks just like a Phase Five Pipe. I'm sorry I can't be exactly sure, that's been along time ago... Nice Tri-Z pics those of you who posted, wow!

    More Parts....

Sorry guys, but I don't have any parts left... Here's a few shots, the first a Low Profile Rear fender for the 85 ATC250R, and the Tecate Fork Guard set. Also a copy of a test out of Dirt Wheels on the 85 ATC250R Kit we sold, thanks!
