1986 kx250 shock eye to eye roughly 16.25 inches. and both the clevis/body widths are 26.25mm (like tecate I think).
cap to bumper....there is no bumper as usual. So cap to top of spring is about 5.25 inches (then subtract bumper height).
Much longer shock than Tecate but I think the biggest problem is the shaft of kx250 is 16mm
