JC Penny Scat Tracker

I have an old Pennys Scat Tracker my dad bought me as my first motorized toy about 20 years ago I was scanning through 3 wheeler world and stumbled across some old literature. Was curious who else has one of these, also how rare are they and are they worth anything when fixed up? Mine has been sitting though I do have a new 5 HP Brggs for it. It has been converted to rear disc brakes. I remember how fun that thing was when I was a kid curious if anyone else has any memories of a Scat Tracker - Zach

Oh yeah I almost forgot I also have a metal ski that replaces the front tire for winter riding, though i have seen a couple similar units to the scat tracker I have never seen anything that had a metal ski to replace the front tire...

I have a nice little scat Tracker. I don't have a lot into it, its a blast for camp to camp at TF LOL.
I would love to see some pictures of the ski and picts of your scat.

I love it, but does it steer with that little tire and all the weight in the back? I'd assume not based on the easy rider helmet and the assumption you have a frosty one in your hand while riding it very slowly...

It has a free hub out back. 1 wheel peel, but turns pretty easy like that. Its a blast to ride, always turns heads!!
AND YA, its even more fun w/ a beer LOL

I know this post is really old but i bought a scat tracker a little while ago. I want to convert to disc brakes and didn't know if you have any pictures of the brake area or info on how it was done and with what parts? I know its a longshot but I thought i would give it a try. Thanks, Jack

You can probably find what you need for a disk brake conversion on a go-kart part website. One of the sites that carries more of the performance type, racing parts, would be a good start. I don't know any off-hand, but a quick internet search should have you going in the right direction.
