Kxt250 Tecate 3 What Parts Fit Swap Interchange?

My understanding is the 86/87 KX 250 is the same as the 86/87 KXT 250 so you probably can even buy a 86/87 KX 250 engine for parts and use that for your missing parts. Some of these guys can correct me if I'm wrong.

If you just want to use the KX 250 engine, the 86/87 KX engine will bolt in your Tecate.

The 1987 KX250 is NOT the same as the Tecate 1986-87 motor.

ok so the 85-86 kx motor motor makes the same power as my t-3 motor?Could i go with a newer year kx?Im looking for a bolt in deal where i dont have to cut up the trike at all.What about electronics?Sorry im new the the kawasaki team.

You are on your own with a newer motor.

The KX250 electronics are superior but you can not use a headlight. The electrical systems are generally used as a set.

You can also bolt in a 1985 KX250 motor but the top end porting and power valve setup is different.

The bike motor is, for all intensive purposes, the SAME. Yes the 1986 KX250 top end and all associated parts are the same.

hmmm a buddy says the bike uses a non balanced flywheel amd will cause vibration?anybody?

They are all non-counterbalanced cause they are the same motor like I told you already- twice. It would be nice if you went back and deleted some of your posts to clean up this thread and keep it on track. I will add the motor swap info on the first page.

yes thanks for all the info my 85 petcock just finished its duty and i have to find another and i know which direction to look just bought a 86 tecate complete needs a good paint job but everthing is there...

Are the 86 and 87 T-3 chain sliders the same ?
The upper and lower at the front of the swing arm ones.

I'm 99.99997 percent sure there was no change in the swinger sliders for '87.

Any foot peg springs fit the tecate a1a2? Also anyone know what shock will fit the 83 and 84 kx 250?. Just got more of it done. Still pondering if I should put the tecate motor in it to "try" it out. Im not a 2 wheeler guy so this should be funny. It was all apart when I bought it see pics. And all primed up too. What a mess to sand and scrap.
