    Agree cool!

Shep, is that the climbing place u can see along rt 95 in northern ct?

Time to do belts (nightmare) and replace the 8hp Briggs that snapped the connect rod when moving it into shop. At least I wasn’t in the woods.

Then on to the Arkansas Sphinx. This hike was only 0.2 mile but was straight up a hill......but the view was worth it.

There really isn't any OHV riding though, it's all game removal trails and they're very short. Can't ride on the gravel roads with an unlicensed vehicle either.

There were quite a few people out hunting and several at the camping sites. This is bottom land, with gators and hogs, among other critters.

There's a gator in the background, sunning on a log.

    Ride Red!

The 650 is an awsome dual sport. Not a great tourer out of the box but that same design is coming up on being 30 years old and it still dominates......good choice

Yeah I bought it mostly for dirt and we hit a lot of roads out by big bear that are street legal only. My preference was an r but this one came up and it’s very clean. I’m going to back engineer it to mainly a dirt bike with turn signals. So much power in these though. Thanks.

Well if you ever get a wild hair up your ass and want to do some touring let me know.

A couple of us..sometimes a few hit the local deserts...Borrego, Salton sea, Salvation Mountain, etc... for a 300-400 touring day on our dual sports. Depending probably 70/30 on/off road just touring the local deserts. We've gone from Pioneer town all the way to Glamis. ..back up to julian...things like that. A lot of back roads and stuff but a lot of pave highways....kinda the only way to get 400 miles in a day. We are all in our 50's so it's a fast pace sometimes but usually a leisure/touring pace through things.

It's hard to go wrong with a XR650L.

There's flashier and faster machines available now, but that bike is easy to ride slow or fast. You don't have to wring it's neck to get speed; slow is fast.

There's also a ton of aftermarket for it.

Congratulations, that bike can do anything the rider is capable of.
