Known issue with '81 Honda ATC 200 vacuum leak at air box boot?

I tried to research this but haven't found anything. I have two '81 200s and when the air box boot is connected to the carb perfectly the boot barely fits onto the airbox, causing a vacuum leak. It goes on about 1/2 inch and clamped down, but another 3/4 inch is still there and would fix the leak. Problem is if you slide it all the way on, the one bolt on top doesn't align and the 2 bolts in the back for the plate don't align. Anyone else have this issue and were able to fix it?

Maybe you could GENTLY heat the boot with a heat gun to get the rubber to relax a little. IF you can get it assembled while the rubber is still hot, when it cools, it should stay put....."SHOULD"

Thanks for the help Gabriel! I will try it out. Hoping a hair dryer works because I don't have a heat gun...
