Here is two pics of the 81 185s I've been tinkering with. Nice running trike, easy to start. I got alot of parts of of ebay. A brand new uni filter, new rear fender decals, rebel flag gripper seat, and a headlight. I got the headlight for $40 and it just had a new lens, bulb, case, and chrome ring replaced with oem parts, extremely nice. I used a white paint pen for the letters on the tires.
I did some more tinkering today which is not in the pics. I got some black barbwire pinstriping and went around the edge of the back fender.

I ride this thing daily I love it. It aint no garage queen. I do however keep the trails I ride on my property cut back of any trees and limbs. The tall grass in the fields don't seem to do it any harm though(other than maybe rub the paint thin at the bottom of the frame over time.) I do cover it up everyday when Im done riding, that should help keep it looking good.
I have a new rear hand brake cable ordered for it. I also need to order the triangular shaped decals that go on the front sides of the rear fender. Then it will be done(for now, lol.) All together I only have $140 tied up in this thing, I got the trike for free.
Here is a pic of the pinstriping I did today. Isn't as clean in this pic, did some riding after it stoped raining.

looks good, I really like the job you did with painting the lettering on the tires, makes the bike look a little sharper. Thing looks brand new in the first pictures !

p.s. Your trike is looking AMAZING. I really like how you brought out the lettering on the tires.

Thanks. I got the pinstriping from AutoZone. $12 for about 35' of it I think. So there is plenty to do whatever you want. Right now the 185s is in an open sided shed but I keep it covered up. I am getting the wood together to build it its own personal box, just big enough for it and a few other things to fit in. It will have a floor, sides, top, and doors. That way I can lock it up to keep it safe and out of the weather.

I was going to ask you as well, what did you do for those rims to get them looking so great? Just sand blast?

Nope, no sand blasting, alot of work with sand paper by hand. After I primed them I used steel wool to remove the"fuzz" from the primer. Then a couple coats of aluminum paint.
