This isn't my first trike project, but it is the first time I have made a thread for one. Usually I can just use the 'search' feature and find what I'm looking for but I think I will be needing a little more help on this one. What I've got is a 1981 atc110 that came somewhat complete with the motor already torn down. The head and cylinder were off when I picked it up, with the cylinder and the head in pieces in a box. It came with extra head parts and it looks like I should be able to put a complete head together with all the parts I've got. I have a big issue though, this thing sat with the engine basically open to the elements for about a year with only an orange glove slid over the piston attempt to keep grass, dirt, and whatever else out of the motor. I need to make sure there isn't any dirt or grass hidden in there and I was thinking about just taking an airgun and attempting to blow it all out, nothing is visible in there but I don't want to chance it. Do you guys have any suggestions for me to try to clean this thing out? I've heard of people filling motors up with diesel fuel to clean them out...didn't sound like something I want to do but I would try it if it works and doesn't hurt anything internally. I really don't want to split the cases if I don't have to, but since I got this thing for free it would be a good project to learn on if that is what it comes down to. I'm working on getting pics posted up as well.

Hey I might be interested in the headlight and possibly the forks depending how far I go...it's basically going to be my run around trike for out at the lake and an ice-fishing machine for the winter, so a headlight will be a must have. Would you happen to have a set of rear hubs? The ones on this thing are toast so I'm looking for those for sure. thanks for the reply!

I have what I think are all the main pieces of the spark advancer stuff for this 110 but I can't figure out how it all goes together...according to the schematic I looked at on bikebandit.com, that little piece (holding in first pic) and the bigger piece (second pic) look like they should all be connected as one? It looks like it should all be pressed in there if you know what I'm saying.

This is what I was going by to put it back together:

Maybe I'm just seeing it wrong....I've tried a search on here and can't come up with much on the CDI stuff

the spark advancer is in the cam sprocket cover backwards , pull it out and you will notice it slides over the advancer by pulling both throw spring weights out and pushing it till it hits bottom . Make sure the dots line up so the timing isnt 180 degrees out .

I also noticed the tension spring on the cam seal is comming out also . Make sure it goes back in or your going to have a leak .

Thanks for the quick reply shortline! I've been messing with this thing for 2 days now....I can't believe it was such a simple fix.
I guess I just needed somebody that knew what the heck they were looking at!!...all I've ever rebuilt up until now hasn't had that ignition advance, it's pretty cool stuff though.

Oh and good eye on that spring! I almost lost it when I pulled the advancer out...it was in there pretty tight.

The dots are lined up so it should be good to go after a little cleaning up. I hope this looks a little better now...:)
