well i was redoing a 200x for a guy and the machine shop goofed and either sent the wrong size rings or the gap is too big (piston to wall. will have to get miced later). Anyway, So my hot 200x with the 12:1 weico and stage2 web cam and hardened rockers were donated to him. it took me about 6-7 hours complete. Remember this was taking my 200x engine totally out, taking it appart, cleanign all seals and srufaces, and preping for install on new bike. then do the same thing on his, so not to shabby i think. anyway, that setup is crazy amaizing! when you rev it it's more of a whip-bang to the rpms, not just a reeeeaarrrrrrr up to it like stock. it's extremely responsive! anyway, it's also hard as hell to kick over.

anyway, 2 weeks ago when workign this same bike ont he stocker setup i banged my ankle ont he kicker when it slippe dna rebounded into the bottom of it. well today same thing, except that 12:1 was much stronger and now my ankle is all swollen and my lower leg is throbbine and foot tingling. it really hurt. i fell off the bike holding my leg and rolling on the floor grunting in pain (remember marines trained me not to yell as it attracts attemention in combat). so i crawled into the house dragging my numb leg and puleld my self onto the my good leg and dumped water on my face. it was like wow. i hadn;t been in this kinda pain in a long time. anyway, i'm on call for ym hospital this week and cannot efford to miss a call due to being at the doc. so tomarrow when i get some time, i'll get it checked out. anyway. i HATE kickers!! never again!!!

ig a biek si not electric start or pull start, I'm not starting them anymore!!!!!

p.s. sorry for the bad spelling, I'm up late hurting, sick (sinus infection) and working....

or you can learn your lesson and keep a pair of riding boots around to kick your 12:1 compression 200x over...

i'm not used to kickers is the issue. i got spoined with eleectric starts. hehe. i guyss if i want a shiftert motor, i'll get one of them with an electric starts and drop it in. the lifan 200cc one has more power than the stocker 200x had and it has an electric start and reverse!!! so maybe that's a better option. I'm not good iwth regular shifters as they tend to make me nervous. i had an accint years ago with a shifter type bike and since then really am not liking them. (shifter means clutch style shifting not like the semi autos). anyway everyone has their thing. i an build the piss outta them, just can't ride them. lol make sme a good crew cheif! ;)

I made the mistake of trying to kick start a lt500 with tennis shoes once, walked with a limp for a couple weeks after it kicked back...

Well kickers do suck, but you should try kicking over my 68 xlch harley 900cc. Its being a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro to me right now and I spent about 2 hours kicking it trying to get it going today. If it kicks back and your not prepared, it will really ruin your day.

If you can't kick it push start it. lol But I hear ya, if you can't start the damn thing you have no reason being on it.

You know what you described rolling on the ground grabbing your leg reminds me of a Family Guy episode where Peter Griffin falls to the ground grabing his leg....saying "ohhh, awww, oooo, owww, ahhhhh!" HAHAHA

Well I have to say I got rid of my 350x just due to kicking it over. My right knee just isnt as strong as it should be (surfing accident when I was 14 took my knee cap off). It hasnt been super strong since then, so I usually kick left footed.

lol! you guys are crack ups!!!

hey good news!
My friend whom I ride with he used to do motorcross when he was younger, anyway, he took it for it's virgin ride, and he could NOT whipe the grin off his face. He was in total amaizement on how well it ran even with out the "special tuning" needed to get the extra put of it.
His words: "It's got tons of torque down low and still had tons left up top It's got a nice power band that's nice and smooth. It never stops pulling! I wish I had set mine up this way back in the day. This guy should be real happy when he gets it and really proud. It looks nearly brand now now that you repainted most of it and re-did the motor. It's better than new. Good job Mike, Now make me one. lol"

Yeah, there is a reason that most of the "old school" riders wear knee braces on their right legs. Personally i have seen people thrown over handlebars before due to a 72 sportster. But as far as hating kickers, I'd rather kick it than push start it.
