I bought a trx 250r elka dual rate shock and the hose is 8 miles long. Really probably 24 inches and I am changing it out with an oem trx hose so it can mount where it is supposed to. Anything I should look out for when I unhook the hose or any kind of instruction? Ill take pics so everyone can see what's going on.
And what kind of teflon tape or sealing agent I should use?
I just hope the fittings are the same size.
And I also going to machine bushings to fit as the old ones are too big to fit inside the shock and are not long enough. Have to have all this done by Friday as I am going up north riding.

The reason most of the newer style hoses are so long is due to the fact they want heat dissapation, thats why most of them for the rear shock resi's are mounted way up in the frame at the front.
My line is long as well on my elka, I had to make a 1 inch deep cut on the whole right side of my airbox and run the rezi line (with rubber around it for safty) through the airbox, under the frame rail (where the seat latches) and to its stock location on the left subframe rail.

You can't make the longer hose work somehow? When you remove the hose that is on it now, you will have to have the nitrogen recharged after eplacing the hose with the shorter one.

I know that, I called the local dealer and they charge 12 bucks for a recharge so I'm good with that.
I have the resi mounted in my airbox and I have to replace my air filter now, so I'm just making it shorter, ill mount it where it is originally supposed to be.
Should I just use pipe tape or anything else suggested?

I would use a liquid pipe sealant, rated for pressure.
I'm not a fan of teflon tape unless you run out of threads and have to do something......
