Question for those of you who have already restored a Fatcat - What did you do for your Blue paint for the Tank? Since the only blue on the bike is the Tank, shock spring, seat and fork boots, there isn't much that really needs painted, and the tank is only partially exposed anyway. For mine, I already have blue boots, the shock spring is in good shape and I am not going to repaint, and on the seat, I may go with a black or red seat instead of blue anyway. So my question is this - Should I go spend the extra $$ for someone to comptuer match the color on the tank to put it back to as close to original which will probably cost about $100 or just try to find a can at a local parts store that is close enough? Does anyone know what a good match for that color of blue is, or for that matter, can you buy the exact match anywhere?

My local Honda folks didn't seem to know where to get the paint I was looking for and said it wasn't something they could get.

Thanks in advance for any information.

So I decided to go with the "Ace" hardware brand of royal blue....near exact match to current color of tank. Hope to get it painted and clear coated this weekend. The cat is starting to come together and hopefully before the end of Aug, I can hear it purr. Here is a pic after a couple days of putting parts on it.

pretty bike so far - if the tank is plastic don't paint it. if its metal then it won't matter that much unless you get sloppy with it.
