lever!!!!

I have a 84 trx 200 , I am missing the lever at the top of the motor in the front i believe it is the decompression lever not sure! maybe someone could inform me. I also would like to know if that would be a reason I am not getting excellent compression. Also to go along with that the cyclinder head cover had a nut missing at the top to hold it down and the gasket was messed up. Could these all be reasons for low compression or what do yall think it is ?

Yes that is a decompression lever. It looks just like the ATC 185s/200 so you should be able to use one from them. As far as low compression many things could cause it. If your gasket was messed up or your head bolts aren't torqued correctly could definatley cause it.
