I have to stop shopping for stuff, you know looking through craigs list.
I just found 2 1984 200x trikes with motor problems. That doesn't sound good, but we have 2, 200s motors with high compression pistons, that are way too fast for 200s frames and brakes. 200 auto x is my dream trike.
These trikes are complete with decent plastic, and the guy wants $450 for both.
The problem is I have to figure out a way to pay for them without my wife finding out. She doesn't understand why we have 3 riders and 5 trikes now, much less adding 2 more.
I have to stop shopping. :TrikesOwn

Trike Therapy doesn't work. My wife hates it I have 3 and she doesn't even ride. Build the auto x and let it fly I worked on mine til midnight last night she was mad.

I understand there is a 12 step program for this addiction.
Step 1: Realizing you may have a problem
Step 2: Acknowledging you have a problem
Nobody's made it past step 2 though, they all go riding.

What you gotta do is sell something so you have the cash and then buy it. My wife doesn't seem to mind as long as there is no money coming out of the checking account lol.

I don't just have the trike addiction, I have motorcycles too. I've been fixing up a 1970 CT90, riding a 1978 CT90 & KLX 400r, I have a CB125 that needs work and a SL125 that I need to fix an oil leak on. Right now in my shop I've got 6 trikes and 9 motorcycles. Some of those are my son's but we share.
My wife can't ride, she has arthritis in her hands and back.

with the "plush" suspension of a auto x and the lack of a manual clutch even those suffering with arthritis and back pain may now be able to ride.....

Here is my method and so far it has worked.
1. Buy a runner.
2. Buy another runner.
3. Start hinting how expensive parts are for the bikes. Explain how so many guys buy parts bikes and save so much money.
4. Hint around more that your bike needs something that will be expensive, but that if you had a parts bike you could snatch the parts off it and save the $?? for something else. Say nothing of it for a few days or a week or so. Than gradiually bring it in to a conversation.
5. When you need the parts show her the cost for the NEW ones vs the used parts ones.
6. Bam, you have a new parts bike(s)
7. If your good and find some none runners that you can get running with next to nothing you buy it as "Parts Bike" but get it running. Now you have 3 runners and how ever many parts bikes you have aquired from step 6. :naughty:
8. To aquire more, at this point start at step 3 and continue your subtle approach. :w00t:
9. After you have aquired to many say, "Babe, I have to many and the upkeep (oils, gas, etc..) is getting to be to much." I want to sell some stuff. Once you sell (whatever amount you want) you know have room for more and more parts bikes. Or uou can take the funds from the ones you sell and put it direct into the favorite bikes.
Works for me. I have 7 runners and 3 parts bikes. She knows that when I come across my dream 350x that I will sell as much as I need and get it, then I will need parts bikes for the new 350x  (It really is a vicious cycle, but works for me)

Sell one of your stripped down rollers and slip her some cash$$ Looks like a profitable business to them that way! lol lol I got a good ol' lady. 4 runners, three rollers and just sold 3 70's in a 2 car garage........ Oh ya, never admit you have a problem, denial is your only defense in trike collecting!! LOL

Sold some car parts, now I just need to make arrangements to pick these 2 up.
It's going to take a 400 mile round trip to get these.

I picked them up, got 3 motors, 1 still in a trike the other 2 in pieces. Plastic is great on both. New front tires on both, the rears are ok on 1, junk on the other. One has twist throttle. Both gas tanks are clean & shiny inside. I think the one with the motor can be fixed pretty easy, motor turns over, I think the timing chain stretched and jumped a tooth. There are a few small things wrong, frozen cables, 1 broken lever, but all the important parts are still there and in decent shape.
After I get them unloaded, I'll post some pictures.

Rode one of the trikes with my 200s motor in it yesterday.
My motor has a 200x piston and the head was ported, so it has some power. The exhaust is aftermarket, but no markings, the muffler is stainless. The trike came with a K&N filter, I ordered an Outerwares cover for it. I think it'll need a bigger main jet, but I'll wait for the Outerwares cover before final tuning.
No wonder people like 200x's, it's awesome having suspension.
We'll start on fixing the stock motor in the other one, I think reworking the head and a new piston will do the trick. We decided to keep that one with the manual clutch, since it's complete, just needs a little work.
The motor was pretty toasted that they had pulled. It had a high compression piston,WEB cam and a big carb, but they didn't run high enough octane gas and burned the piston.

I'll post a picture of the piston later. I got a spare motor, but this motor and the spare are in pieces, I don't plan on using them accept for parts.
The 2nd 200x is basically complete, just missing the skid pans. I plan on using the cylinder & head from the parts motor to repair and swap to get it running. The jug is 65mm bore, so it'll clean up with a 1mm bore.

boring 1mm? that should not be necessary bore to 65.5 and use a weisco 10.25:1 if you ever plan on getting a cam .. if not go to a stocker
