Hello,
My feanders are faded and scratched I would like to know the way to fix them (I would think sanding them down) but what grit do I start with and finish with.????

My dad said to paint them but then it will get scratched/chipped and look really crappy wont it?

wet sand them using wd-40. plastic is a petroleum product and wd-40 does a amazing job of not only restoring the color but also the viability of the plastic. i regularly spray mine down weather i ride them or not.

the grit of the sandpaper depends on the scratches but you want to finish with 1500-2000 grit

I saw MR ATC's photo album when I bought parts from him. Those pics are all real! They were even dated in the bottom corner by the Kodak developer!

yes, if you just sand the fenders it will look bad, but that is also the first step in the Renew process. It will make them look like new if you sand out all the scratches. Renew is a good bit of work depending on the depth of your existing scratches, but is much cheaper than new ones. I renewed my 82 110 and still have 3/4 of the bottle left over. Get extra sandpaper. You really don't need 1000+ grit paper. I finished with 400 and it is very smooth. check out the link below for Renew.

Really? Well sorry man! the photo just looked a bit imposed over the background,
But hell, those are pretty cool pics, I've never quite been able to get that much air under the 110! :-D
