I got a call from my friend a few hours ago where my trikes are stored. He was riding my bigred 200es, its not by any means mint, no rear fenders... But he left me a message on my phone that he wrecked it and it's pretty bad. (Hes ok:) )
He said that he was going down his driveway (which is like a 1/4 mile) doing about 35mph heading towards all the buildings. He said he went to use the rear brake and it just fell off. He swerved to miss a trailer and truck but went right into a bunch of car fenders and a gas tank.
The trike flipped over him and rolled but thats all he remembers. I think it slid on the gravel after it flipped. He said the gas tank flew like 30 feet and the trike just died. He pushed it back in the barn and then called me.
I get out there expecting it to be trashed, but when I seen it, it looked pretty much the same, except the tank being off. The damage is all the racks including the headlight guard are heavily scratched, rear rack is slightly bent and the tank has some scratches.
I put the tank back on, turned the bike on, hit the starter and it fired right up. So im happy. But its back to the condition when I bought it, scratched up racks and a flat tire.
I also found out what failed on the rear brakes, the cotter key that holds the rear cable to the lever fell out causing the pin to slid out and him to lose brakes. Im thinking im just going to put a bolt and nut threw there instead, unless some one has one of those pins that they would be willing to give me.
