The DX - K is just as common as all the DX's, because it is one. The "K" just represents the year (1983) And the other years were the DX "L" 1984 and DX "N" 1985 There is nothing rare about it. Then they went to the DR's also in (85?)

around here its rare to see a yamaha in the classifieds, its all mainly hondas. all the yamahas that do appear are crappy tri moto 125's and 175's. so to answer your question yes they are more rare mainly because poeple in general prefer the superior 250sx

^X2.
Keep that in mind when you do a search.
1983 225DX or YTM or Trimoto...and so on.
Even Yamaha left off the K, on their site.

A money tree... Can I get a few seeds? I am willing to wait a short bit for it to grow....
