the 86 tecate frame i have has no vin. its not stolen, it was worn off and rusted. so when i had it sandblasted, that finished them off. so how do these vin numbers run? i have a few i wrote down from sales on ebay, but i want to copy them exact.
heres what is the same on the 2 i have, JKAXTMB1 i need to know what the next 9 next numbers should be. the 10th should be a G or H, but the 9th is different on both vins i wrote down. or can i just make them up and go from there.

I thought you could pour a type of acid on it to bring out the originals??
If they were just rusty and then blasted, I'd think you could get them back.....

I'm not posititive about this, but couldn't you use the numbers off your engine? I was planning on doing that with my 500 because I had the same problem with my 86 frame.

the engine vin starts with kx250. maybe the last digits would work?
you can faintly see some of the vin numbers but i can't make them out. they were rusted and worn off from the clutch cable, so i think they were long gone before i got it, and you would never get them back.
if you go on kawasaki's website, you can plug the vin number in and it will tell you what you have. i tried making my own up but couldn't get anything to work. i just want a number in the frame so when i ever register it or sell it, it will be legit.

In the next month I will know definitively if I am abandoning my tecate/honda project. If I do, I will cut the tecate neck off and send it to you, then you can stamp your frame with my vin, and throw my neck away. I'll keep you posted.
