I have 2 rear calipers, the first i destroyed trying to take it apart to paint it :x The second i got actually needed to be rebuilt because of a frozen piston, luckily the first one i have has a good piston i removed. Anyway on the second one i got as far as snapping the very first bolt i touched off. Fantastic!

Anyway in the back of dirtwheels there is a place in mass (kinda near me) that says they rebuild calipers. Anyone know how much this would cost? Or should I have a regular machine shop try to take it apart for me?

all a regular maghine shop is gonna do for that bolt you broke is drill it out and charge you 30 bucks and maybe re-tap it and give you another bolt...i would bring it to soneone who would know what they are doing :? ;)

i don't know how much they charge but i charge 40.00 not including parts. i sandblast the outer casing, hone the cylider, repaint, and install the new parts.

how do u remove the frozen parts? and then if you break something, do u have to order it? what is the turn around time? i'll gladly send it to you!

Let it soak in tranny fluid.
Or.....COKE A COLA
Should take about a day to break loose. Shake it up a few times.

well to remove a frozen piston loosen the bleeder screw and attach a grease gun and pump grease into the caliper this will force the piston out.

frozen brake pins i saturate with a product called "Thrust"

turn around time is about a week if you supply parts. if i have to order them 10 days
