Silverlake Fall Ride Sept 26/27- Who's in?

There are a group of folks that want to play in the sand before the snow flies and we are going to be heading for the dunes September 26/27.

If the weather looks like it's going to be crap on the weekend (say by Wed or Thursday) we can talk about waiting till the next weekend (October 3/4) at that time.

For our Canadian Brethren, you will need ID to get across the boarder so if you don't already have a passport you have a month to get a hold of one of the following:

Good to hear from you! I assume your the one that Rich was talking about? I have a spare bed in my room if you and joedirt want to crash together. I went up to my motor guy uptown to get a extra plug or 2 and to return a intake boot I had borrowed and Ron greats me at the door saying he has been looking for me all morning (went out fishing ) and directs me to the back storage area and says you want this extra gas line !
He had a water line break in his shop a couple of days ago and tee-totally flooded the place so now he is clean up mode.
So I plan on bringing this along and sharing with anybody that has a need for some extra fuel line to take back home and have at hand when needed.

Never did get my plugs ! Can't wait to go back tomorrow :).

What a weekend! Many thanks to Ross, Shannon and Scott for taking me to Silver Lake. I had an awesome time riding with everybody again! I hope your foot is feeling better John. Jason, I seen a preview of the helmet cam, I think your going to love it.
Brian, I hope you made it home safe and sound and didn't fall asleep at the wheel. Sunday was a little smoother for riding. The wind picked up and started to change the hills and smooth things out.
It was great to see the Ottawa crew again, hope you guys didn't have any issue's coming home.

I had a great time !!!!It was the first time in sand for me ,took a little gettin use to it ,it was rough ,but a hole lot of fun.Just keep the front light and the throtle pinned.I would've had some pictures to post but i broke my camera (actually the wifes camera) on the first ride out.She's not happy with me right now.It was good seeing Dave,John,and Jason again and meeting everyone else!I really had a good time and cant wait for the spring ride!

Had an absolute blast at Silver Lake. What a great crew we have. Our group happened to be so big that some of us didn't get to do too much riding with each other, regardless I think we were all smiling 99% of the time.

Those high speed perimeter runs with you trike riding folks was definitely a highlight!

Hopefully we can get another run or 2 planned out before the snow starts to fly ;)

Alright, Here are some pics from the weekend in no particular order, didn't get too many action shots like last time, was a lot more socializing happening this time.
With the rain that came down the night before and that day at noon the sand was really rough, It would almost pack like a snowball, therefore all the tires left tracks and the trucks and buggies left trenches. i decided to run regular tires and forgo some traction, only place I couldn't keep up was out of the hole.
A big thanks to Jason Hall for letting my wife ride his spare machine, Her trans was a little too full and when it got hot it was pushing oil out the vent tube and dripping it on the pipe, wow did it smell..... Drained a little out for Sun and all was good........ except now she wants a 450R

A run across the bigger dunes and then a chase thru the trees following Tapper, Jason Hall and the Quadzilla. Word of advice.... never follow a zilla in sand, unless you like to eat dirt.

Here's another chase thru the trees with the camera facing backwards, Jason is following, It was all I could do to keep in front of the 450R, especially without paddles, I'm sure he could of passed at any time on the straight sections. When we were done we all couldn't stop laughing, It was probably the most fun I've had at the dunes and I think the others would agree, The longer the chase line the better.

A long run thru the dunes with a drag race thrown in for the heck of it ( I lost in a bad way without paddles on) . Trying to chase down the 450r and Quadzilla, I was flogging the old R pretty hard but she didn't let me down at all.
