how can you tell if the one way bearing in the primary clutch is going bad? does it make a noise like really loud ticking, will it cause your primary clutch to slip? and also could someone explain exactly what it does, any help is greatly appreciated:wondering

When you turn your motor off after riding, you will hear the clutch still winding for a couple seconds and then come to an abrupt stop and make a somewhat loud (CLICK) noise. That is a bad one way bearring. It shouldnt make a clicking noise when its running, or cause the clutch to slip I dont think. One thing you will notice is when you are going down a hill in gear and let off the gas, it will be like it is in neutral, until you give it a little throttle, then it will go back into gear. This is one thing I noticed on a couple different machines after that one way bearring went bad. Hope this helps.
