theres a import band that was set when they banned trikes.
so in 97 manufacturers could of built trikes again.
why didnt they do it.
maybe theres a way to get ahold of the company and talk them into making them again.
i think its bullcrap trikes were aroung before quads and they should be continued.
man i hate that bann.

Many threads on this topic. I searched for "import" and "ban".

Trikes have a bad reputation. Weather you agree with it or not they do. They will never be made again in a mass production. Its just not going to happen. The MFG's are still scared of the lawsutis of the 80's that stoped the production. You can see by how much they detune the quads they are still afraid. Its not going to happen, dont waste your time.

Dammit!

One of the last bills president Bush signed into law before leaving office was the final nail in the trike coffin. It will NEVER happen. It is officially illegal for any manufacturer to import trikes into the US. The previous 10 year agreement was voluntary on the part of the manufacturers. This new law is not.

Like a wheelie bar with the wheel on the back. U dont think these guys that write these things arnt smart enough to plan that type of stuff?:wondering

In a small production nobody would probably ever come after you. Nobody in the goverment agencys would have time to go after every home built project thats a 3 wheeler. But they can control the big mfg's.

Maybe the best thing is for someone to make a trike conversion for a quad. But, which quad?

Makes you want to go buy a 450r and rip it apart, How cool would it be to go to your local Honda dealer and buy any thing you may need.

FYI - I have a 450 and parts availability and prices are SWEET!!! they have stuff in stock at the Honda dealerships. fenders are cheap - "go fast" parts are a dime a dozen. I recommend quad conversions - and know of a few guys making this happen. I will have a nice trail version for sale within a couple of months. As more an more guys are doing these conversions - they will come up for sale - However - they come with a price tag a bit heavier than your standard "fix-me-upper" 200X for sale on Craigslist.
