I am having some trouble finding neutral on this thing. I know one down two up and neutral between. However i cant seem to find it lol. Sometimes if im kicking it over i will accidently hit the shifter down one into first when im jumping on the kicker. But when i go up to put it back into neutral it goes into second. It takes forever for me to get back into neutral and im not really sure how i do it half the time. Can someone help me please. I feel so retarted.

does the shifter feel tight and springy?
i had a stud/bolt that held the return spring break inside of my stator cover and it made it hard to find neutral

You actually have to put it in first, then its a half shift up from first. Sometimes it makes it easier if you slightly rock the machine forward while sitting on it, then LIGHTLY shift 1/2 up unto neutral. Its all in how light you shift it. If you shift too hard, you will wnd up in 2nd every time. Good luck and hope this helps.

had the same problem, i used to just shut the bike off everytime I wanted to put it into neutral. I then read on here that if you bring the rpm' s up on the motor , like around 2000 or so then it will get into neutral much easier. and it is easier to hit neutral from 2nd than from 1st

whyzee said it right - I have several machines that are hard to find neutral - but if I rev it up - it clicks right in everytime. Try it.

Thanks for the responses guys. As Yamaha said its half a click up thats what i have found. Put it in first and EVER** so lightly push up into neutral. Sometimes it takes a few tries. Will try the reving method though.
Thanks!!
