Not really "seized".... I was looking at another project 225dx and the guy said ya it has compression....next day i went and checked and it wont pull over it did a few months ago. He put oil in the cylinder will tht screw anything up?

if it does free up is it worth buying or will it seize up when i get it running or something?

Im guessing the cylinder walls will be pretty scored up after being seized. Might want to get a new jug. Oil does work though...did it on my go-kart a long time ago...Smoked like a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro afterwards though.

might be ok then. be careful though. guy might be trying to screw you. but yea put some oil in there...let it sit for a little bit and hit it a few times with a rubber mallet. should free up if recently seized.

If it's cheap enough, why not even if it's seized? Get another jug, possibly a piston and away you go.

If its cheap then it's not a bad investment, keep soaking the cylinder with oil, and slowly try to turn the crank by had back and forth to loosen it up. If its siezed the rings probably rusted to the cylinder wall, you just have to be very careful when trying to free it, you could possibly crack a ring. Not sure if it's pull, eletric or kick start but I would pull a side cover to get directly to the crank. I've had a few motors like that (V8's and single cylinder sleds) I have freed them with not problems at all, and still had good compression.

SLOW and EASY wins the race!

its 100 and hes open to offers so i could prob get it for like 75 bucks. I think ill get it try to EASILY oil back and forth. If tht fails then do piston and rings which ive never done but like to learn

Do it William Schatner style (priceline.com) offer the cat 50 bucks, then if you have to go up!

Did he put oil in it just for storage? Its not uncommon...
