Changing out crank seal?

I lost my crank seal on my 85 250r.
Do I have to split the cases in order to fix this or is it something i can do by taking off the clutch assembly and do it externally?

I just checked, and yes you can change out that seal on the right side case without splitting the cases.

Yes, there are a couple threads on it. Don't knick the crank where the seal rides and I'm pretty sure that the crank seal has to be pushed in a bit further than flush, it's in the SM but if installed too far it's a problem for bearing location.
