So my ATC 70 runs and it runs ok but I noticed it sputters at WOT. Like it just doesn't feel like it has a lot of power, I've tried messing with the carb adjustments and that doesn't really do much. Anything else I could try? The air filter is clean I know that.

Is it modded any? Make sure the main jet isnt clogged. Does it happen when you crack the throttle from an idle? If so, try changing the clip position of the needle. Go either direction and see if it helps. I had a ytm 200 do this and the needle clip position fixed it.

Is it a stock carb? A very small piece of dirt will wreak havoc on one of those.

I completely took the carb apart and cleaned everything, all the jets and everything....I can try to do it again.

Well... there is a throttle limint screw on the back of the thumb throttle on some 70's, I have never seen one that still had it in there, lol but there is a chance, you are suppossed to remove the limit screw and plug the hole with the special short screw to keep out dirt, haven't seen to many with that either, just an open hole. Sounds like you have dirt in the carb or the points need adjusted.

They are brand new points, but if they are out of adjustment it would make it sputter?

I was thinking points myself. Do you have new points and condenser too? Points out of adjustment or old points can cause a sputter.

The points are brand new and I thought they were in spec by maybe not, I'll check them again.
