I pulled my triples apart today to have them polished, the bearings are like brand new, everything still had the factory red grease, and was clean as a whistle!! My problem is I wanted to get the lower race, and the seal off. there was really no way to get the race off without destroying the seal. No biggie, the rubber was starting to separate on part of the seal, I'll just replace it! Well now after checking service honda, listed for 4 bucks, but bike bandit shows it unavailable!! I would rather not have to spend 35 bucks for an all balls kit when the oem ones are perfect. Its an 86 by the way. anyone have any ideas, or have a good seal floating around somewhere. In hindsight, i should have just left it on, but I wanted everything out of the way for polshing, and really dont know the process, thought maybe they soak it in somthing for cleaning that would deteriorate the rubber anyway:rolleyes: :wondering

The LOWER seal?? That thing just stretches right over the lower race. I think you reuse it with the all balls, but I forget......

If thats the case, the kit does nothing for you. Do a search on that kit and see if it reuses the stock one in which case your out of luck.

EDIT - 10 seconds later and I already second guess myself, I remember there kit having a rubber coated lower washer, it's the top that gets reused (I think) and either 350X or 200X in those are DC'd too and don't swap either. I guess this is why I rarely sell anything.............

I have a few news ones but if they got DC'd, the DC is gonna keep em :D Maybe I have a used one for ya? I'll trade you for a headlight

find the part of bikebandit, and cross list and see what else it was used on.

Helps A LOT

DC, on the 85 you would be correct, there is just a large flat washerthen arubber seal that you can stretch right over the race, but on the 86 the seal and washer are one piece. I do have a good 85 washer seal and lowere race, it might work, i dont know, as the 86 race it thicker. Plus i would think the 86 is a better design.
I'll try what you suggested Goat.

You may end up buying the All Balls kit.

If you do and it's the same kit for each year, then get that available rubber seal and roll with that......

I guess I can't remember that washer being different on my 86, I thought it was the "stretch and remove" rubber, don't recall a washer/rubber assembly.
