I am trying to replace the rear swing arm bearing on my 350x. I have everything off of the left side except the bracket for the sprocket, how do you get that off?

On the right side I cant get the big nut off. I dont have the right size wrenches and was trying to use channel locks. Are they reverse threaded or is there any other trick. without removing that, I cant get the brake disc off.

After I get all the stuff off the axle do I slide the whole thing out one side or the other?

Please help me out from here!!

Sorry about all the questions.
Thanks for any help.

The axle slides out the sprocket side If I remember correctly.. there is no need to remove the sprocket hub itself.

make sure to take off the clip on the brake side. you cannot back the axle nut off without removing that first.. there also one of those C clips on that side that holds the carrier in the swinger. hope that helps.

Yeah, the c clip is flopping around cuz the carrier is broke. I talked to a member here who gave me some ideas but still no luck. I got the thinner nut loose but the big one is impossible, I had a 26" pipe wrench on the thing and it wont budge. I am going to put some PB blaster in there tomorrow and if that doent do it then I will me going to town with the grinder I guess.:wondering

So... Anybody got a nut with the ring and clip they want to sell. I also am in need of a new carrier w/ bearings. I dohave cash:)

OK, got it all apart.:w00t:

The previous owner must have rode this thing a ton with NO bearing in it. The brake hub has a ring worn in it. Looks like I am in the market for one of those too. lol

thoughs are reverse threads on the big nuts. No wonder you couldn't get them off.:p
