Tecate frame colors, let see some pics...

I feel like beating a dead horse this evening, and with all of the 86/7 T3 popping up i've decided to go against my better judgment and winter plans to start my T3 project. As of right now i have a basket case motor, and a very nice roller. I'm not a big fan of the way the paint on it looks, so i'm going to be sending everything out to get powder coated.

My plans are to do the frame and shock pivot in either a metallic blue, or a bright green.

Everything else will be black the hubs, mounting brackets (fenders, tank) , foot pegs, rear carrier, axle hubs, you get the point.

So anyway what colors have you guys used? Anyone have a dark purple frame? I'm thinking that might be too dark with all of the bolt ons being black, and i dont want everything to be one color...

Metallic blue with green fenders, or lime green frame with black fenders would be sweet.

Bright orange frame would also look AWESOME with black fenders

Oh yea i should add i plan to get rid of the old maier rear fender and find an oem piece, and it already has the green 250r fender on the front.

But now that you mention it maybe i can find a color that works for both because you can obviously buy the R fronts in black, and i have 2 tecate tanks and the previously mentioned maier rears i could paint black, and ride it that way. I bet black plastics would really set off the frame if it was green or orange...

Bigbore ordered them, you have to buy 10 for an order. And before i bought this roller back from my cousin i asked him about and fender and they are gone. I'm sure there would be enough interest to get another batch of them produced...

I did my 86 Tecate frame metallic charcol grey. It looks good with the polished engine and factory green plastics.

Anyone else have a pic of a T3 with some non stock colors? I figured i'd at least get a couple people posting that white/orange frame 85 that looks great that was for sale a year or so ago, not that i want to paint my plastics white...

Well here is my 87 tecate with a STONE GRAY color (NO its not primer) hehe. I liked the color when I got it and stuck with it.
My 85 is going to be same black easy color frame. And not sure about the Red tecate....

TC, deciding on a frame color seems to be causing you alot of unneeded stress. I think you need to just bring all of these 1986 Tecate parts up to my place.:w00t: :lol:

Haha i dont think you have enough room for them Doug, i'll just keep thinking about it until i drop it off to get done. Plus i like having people spot some random green in the background of my pics and wonder what i'm up to.
