i was wondering if this would work.

the front of the frame on the 350x there is the air intake. i was wondering if the back part got boxed in (so the only opening would be in front), wouldn't that kinda act like a ram air hood? instead of the air that passing thru it would all be shoved down the top tube into the airbox?

i'm sure honda made it that way for a reason, just a though when i was staring at the frame the other day....what ya's think?

Dammit!

That one in front is supposed to be the only opening. You have another one?

It's made that way to keep water out of the airbox. That point of the frame is the highest place you can put an air intake without resorting to a snorkel. Honda has been doing it that way as far back as I can remember.

no i got just the one opening. the cover that is over the opening, if some metal was welded on to seal up the rear part of that cover so all the air that goes into that cover goes into the airbox and not some passing thru like it does now.

i wish i had a camera, it would be easier to show then type i think.

Dammit!

I get what you're saying now. I don't think it would make much improvement unless you made some sort of scoop to direct air into it better and even then, you'd probably get bigger gains just taking off the airbox lid.

lol, lotta guys take the airbox off and use the K&N then they also add the water cover when riding in swapped areas or sand. K&N sells a cover designed to keep sand and or water out.

I appreciate your thoughts....

BUT, don't forget, no matter how well you get air INTO the air inlet, it still has to do a 180 degree turn to jam it into the carb inlet. I doubt any better flow from the front would do much IMO...........

Now, if you could put the intake at the front and the exhaust at the rear, Thats another story :D

Isn't that what cannondale did? or at least thought of??
