200x has the clap

well drip.. ok ok soo lots of drips.

when i ride my 200x its just fine besides being a pita to start when cold, but has no issues.... unless i start screwing around and doing wheelies, it will start to leak gas out of the vent tube on the left side of the carb...
Why would this be?? my only guess would be the float is getting stuck??? once it starts leaking it will pretty much keep leaking untell i shut the fuel off, wait for it to stop dripping. Than i can turn the fuel on and start riding again and it will be fine tell wheeling again, or tipping over

Need to take the carb apart and see if its dirty or not . if its clean it could be the float is worn and not sitting right with the needle .

dont screw around with leaking gas,pictures on here of peoples pride and joy upin smoke.fix that asap

4cfed if you need I have another stock carb off of my 85 200x. I'm running one off of a xr 200 so I'll never need the stock one again. If you can't get yours fixed let me know. Oh yeah where you planning on ice racing in WI?

i ride on lake winnibago, and the fond du lac river.. dont plan on doing any sanctioned races, just fun with friends might do something up by oshkosh as long as i can run studded tires,

and ill let you know on the carb tonight or tommrow, im gonna work on it after dinner, where abouts are you at wikid?

took carb off tonight, and apart,cleaned it good, cleaned the outside of it, and the choke, and inspected the intake boot from carb to motor, air tube from box to carb, and filter, all good, put it back together and it still starts like allways.. 20 kicks later ( i might be a lazy kicker to) idles cold just fine on no choke and half choke,
Full choke it shuts off, .... anyways my question is on the jetting, looks like 83 was 110 stock main and 84-85 was 108.. mines a 84 and my main is 110. this should be good correct? stock style filter, lid on and not drilled, stock exhaust minus spark arrestor..

Jetting sounds about right. It should run. I'm from Wausau. Right now I'm in Menomonie I go to UW-Stout. In the winter we ride on Lake wausau usually someone has a oval track plowed. It's fun to ride up the river too.

same here... the dirt bike guys plow a oval and a long road course on the lake here, and plow a road out to them, so kinda get the best of everything, straights to drag race, oval road, and snow banks to jump
