Hi,
My 87 250es has a dead battery, and I don't have the extra $45 for a new one right now, so here's my question. I have a good lawnmower battery that I just removed when I winterized the mower. It is a bit bigger, but it will fit in the rear trunk perfectly, all I need to do is extend the battery cables. Would this hurt anything on the ATC electrical system?
Thanks

What I have done on my rider Big reds is run longer battery cables into the rear truck (drilling small holes at the bottom). Then I get a lawn tractor battery and mount it in the trunk. It does take up alot of your trunk, but its 20$ and is stronger than the smaller for extra lights and winches.

I had a battery out of a Dodge Conversion van hooked up to my SX via some jumper cables.

Using an inexpesive lawnmower battery is very tempting, but for me, I hate mods that require you to drill holes or alter the original machine in any way. I clenched my jaw and paid $80 or $90 for a Yuasa battery for my SX, and that was 3 years ago. Never a problem since.

Contrast that with my son's Chinese quad, which has always had cheap $30 Chinese batteries in it. I've had to replace the battery every year. Even I'm smart enough to do the math and realize I'm losing money by being stubborn and not buying a good battery.
