Where to buy good (cheap) tubes

After I bought new rims for my SX, I didn't have to use tubes anymore, but I have 6 other machines, and keeping these old things from leaking can really be a biatch. So I've resigned myself to using tubes where necessary, but my local supplier no longer carries the 22x11-8 tubes with the metal stem. Does anyone have a good place to get these at a resonable price?

I know you purists will say I need to clean my bead surfaces and stuff, but there are only so many hours in the day, and polishing rims is very *low* on my priorities. On that note, it seems like some machines tolerate tubes better than others. When I was using them on my SX, the tubes were always twisting inside the rim and getting ripped at the valve stem. I have other machines with tubes and never had a problem. Wierd....

My local farm store carries them. Theyre just a bit off from the exact size, but they work just fine.

10$ + 10$ shipping.....its easier to run to a local farm supply store and grab them for 20 bux......Not have to wait a week :D

Do whatever you wish, I can only share that I have never had one tube last more than a year. And usually it's on a steel rim that I can't break the bead on. So it normally cost me about 25$ for a tube and at least 10$ to break the bead. At that point, I could get a cheap tire and hopefully mount it myself :D

I guess thats when I got in the habit of buying brand new tires already mounted in a "package deal" Some of those packages are as cheap as 149$ on ITP rims. In Mass, we can drive to one place that offers packages (I forget the friggen name now) but maybe you have a place locally yourself??

The farm store im talking about it called "Farm and home" although im pretty sure most all farm stores should have them since its a pretty common sized atv/utility tube.

Dont joke about the H1N1. My buddies daughter was diagnosed with it last week, 2 days later after my g/f took her to the emergency room she came down sick as a dog........now ive been sick all this week as well. We're all gonna die!!! Actually its kind of a shitty flu if it IS infact what i have. Sorry to hijack the thread!

Don't know if you have them or not. Discount tire got mine for $13. I have never poped a tube. . . yet. Only had it in for like 3 rides seems ok so far. I have ruined bearings, frames, levers, axles, rims, and pipes though.

I had a problem with ripped beads on the YT125 tires, I just squirted this stuff in each tire, stuck some air in it, swished it around a few minutes and they're good. The instructions say don't use it for beads, oh well, it worked.

I used that stuff in a tire way back and youre right, it stopped the leaks but good year was pissed when they took my tire off. That stuff makes a MESS

Package deals on trikes are only 2 tires rims.....

Depending on the tire and rim, packages range from 150$ to over 300$.

150$ is a steel ITP rim and a cheap tire. I personally spend 80$ or better for the tire and always get the thickest rims they sell, so my package is always about 280$ give or take. Cheap tires aren't for me, but tubes are definitely not for me. I actually like the rubber valve stem better than the steel, because the stems get ripped off.

The trick or best "defense" with tubes is to run a bit more air in them, like 8psi and to glue the bead to the rim. Thats where the issue is. You get stuck in some mud and get that wheel spinning and any aggressive tire tends to slip on the rim, then the tube valve stem shears off.

Again, tubes work for Tom, Dick and Harry; they just don't work for me, I hate em :lol: When I'm working and I have money, I just buy the thickest sidewall tire and the thickest rims and that seems to keep me rollin.

Types off riding also vary, anyone who's been on a ride at my house knows what it's like to get to the pit. Every terrain you can think of is involved and we don't go slow :D
