Anyone have a 38mm carb laying around that can measure the O.D of the air filter side of the carb for me? My carb is on my trike at my fathers house getting ready for the tear down and im trying to gather a filter up for it. Im going to use a universal filter.

I have a 36mm that i measured at 2.375 or 60mm, but im sure the 38 is bigger. Thanks in advance.

it measures 2.26 in. or 57.4 mm on the outside of the intake throat. Right where the band would clamp down at.

On a 38mm?? Why does this 36mm carb i have measure 60mm......

If you've got a Keihin PWK series 38mm-40.5mm it should be 64mm at the back where the airfilter would clamp on

I went out and re-checked it, I don't what the heck happened the first time, bump the button(s) on the digital caliper or some thing.
Anyway, 57.42mm or 2.26 in. where the band clamps down.

Sorry bout that. john

Thats the same reading you got up there ^^^^ Hows it 3mm smaller on a 2mm larger carb? Lol...Maybe youre running a mikuni or something? I measured a Keihin PJ 35mm. Maybe im wrong. I guess ill have to double check it to be sure. I appreciate it!

You know what? I measured I.D on mine........i screwed all up. Having my dad measure it while im on the phone with him as we speak. Ill post the results.

My dad measured 63mm on the bike, so ill go with a 64mm filter since its probably the one i need anyways. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-9630 is the one im shooting for.

or how ever you spell it ,,, definitely 38mm (and then some).
I was gonna pull it off tomorrow to change intake boot to a red one, just got a step ahead now.
yes, just like all the different jets out there between all the different model of carbs, that's enough to confuse a professor !

That is weird how its showing so much smaller than mine. The brands obviously play a roll in the size. Now we all know that :) Anyways, im glad i got to help you get a step further in your project. :beer

I appreciate the help.
