I have a 83 YTM 200k that has a pull start without the decompression cable. This trike should have a cable as far as I know. So if I buy a pullstart with a decompression cable with, will it match up with the adapter that is currently on the trike? Or do I need to buy the adapter too?

On bike bandit, the adapter for the pullstart with a cable is one part number and the one with out a cable is another part number but yet the both look identical. Does anyone know if these two are interchangable?

Thanks Bob

The 200 (chain drive) did come with a automatic decompression from the factory, all the other 200's and 225's came with a manual decompression lever. The pull starter housing is different and the release lever is different.

Most of the time the decompression has been removed, they wear out faster then the rest of the trike.

What part are you wanting to replace?

My 200 (chain drive) came without the automatic pullstart. It has a pull start like the shaft drive would have. I want to put an original pullstart on. But I am unsure since this trike has a pull start from a different model of 200, will the original pull start still mount up. What I dont know is if the adapter that the pullstart mounts too is original or not. Will a automatic decompression pullstarter mount to the same adapter as a manual decompression pullstarter? Like I said by looking at bikebandit.com the adapters are different part numbers but look like the exact same part. Any help would be great!

Ahh, the 200 chain pull starter will interchange with the 200 shaft pull starter (and the other way around).

The left side engine case that they bolt to is different... on the engine side, the pull start bolt pattern is the same for both.
