Hi, wonderin of anyone can help, when I bought my Big Red, the choke was frozen, so I unscrewed the cable from the carburetor and it would not pull out. After forcing it a little, I got the end of the cable and the spring to pop out, but now the plunger is still frozen in there. I've been soaking it with PB blaster, but cant get it to budge. Anyone ever experience this and is there any easy way to get it out??? THANKStrailpro

Drill a small hole in the plunger and ram a screw into just the plunger... Then you can pull it with a pliers... Crappy way to have to do it, but that was the only way I could get it out on my BR... The plunger is still available at Service honda and BB, but isnt real cheap... If you managed to pop the cable out of the plunger, but the plunger is still in the carb, you have probably arleady ruined the old one...

Yep, old plunger is already junk, I broke the 2 tabs off trying to pull it out. I guess I'll try the drill and screw method...thanks for the help

If the carb is that bad i would suggest buying a new one, they can be found cheap on ebay (New)

there are cheap carbs for 200's, but never seen one for a 250. What thorpe said will work, i did the same thing on a spare I was cleaning, worked like a charm.

85 Tecate-the rest of the carb is fine, it actually ran great, but the choke didn't work, so it was a little hard on cold starts. I saw the carbs on ebay, they are a little different than the stock carb, i kinda wanted to keep it oem. I will try the drill and screw method, if it doesn't work, then I'll look for a used honda carb.

Yeah sorry i missed the part about the 250es. I thought we were talking about a 200. Those carbs are cheap. It wont hurt to try to get it out the way that was stated, hopefully you can find the new parts for it cheap enough. Good luck!

I wouldn't hack it up too much before I paid 25$ to have it thrown in a mill and removed without any other damage....

Yeah, I don't plan on hacking it up, if I can't get it out, my buddy has a machine shop
