Hey Everyone! I have a 1984 - 200 ES Big Red that ran about 1.5 years ago and then it mysteriously quit working...I have pulled the plug and replaced, cleaned the tank out of what ever was left along with the fuel filter in the tank, sprayed the carb out with cleaner and replaced the decayed air filter...I have tried and tried to pull start this rig because the battery was dead but since put the charger on the battery and noticed the Reverse and Neutral indicator lights no longer illuminate...Any help on what may have caused this once dependable rig to no longer run????

Check connections at neutral start switch, had the same problem with my 250sx, I'd assume that there is one on the 200 as well so you can't start in gear. Mine was on the right side of the motor down by the foot peg. Also check your fuses.

+1 9 times out of 10 its these connections. There will be a small cover i believe and 2 sensors in there.

I was using my battery charger to get me power through the dead battery. I just don't know if these lights absolutely need to be powered or will the machine fire without??? I have power to the head light and when I hit the starter switch it just doesn't seem to have enough juice to get the starter to turn over....Yet, as I think back to my attempts the head light has a very strong beam...????
