Theres this guy that has a hodaka wombat that i can have for free. It has the chromed tank, the engine is frozen, and the head pipe is rotted away. Thats just the obious problems... Is it worth it? Are theese good/ desirable bikes?

They are very collectable to those that are interested in them, much like the 3 wheeler. Hodaka collectors also tend to be very dedicated and have more than 1 bike. Do you know if it is the standard "Combat Wombat" or is it the
"Super Wombat"? You can get the parts to convert it over if it is a standard "Combat Wombat" though so no big deal. The also had models called the "Road Toad" and the "Dirt Squirt". Neat bikes.

HRE used to have a dirt squirt, well he claims he still has parts to it laying around but i have not seen them in years.

they are neat bikes, good luck with it if you get it.

Probably a lot more wrong with it too, maybe best thing is to find a Hodaka forum and give it to someone that has the knowledge to restore or use for parts.

A few years only before my time and remember them well.
