My tri-z seems to be runnig rich all of a sudden. It acts like it has no bottom end and sputters mid to top end untill it clears out. I have to run it hard just to keep it from loading up. I have been runnig 32:1 with 92 for the past few months and just tried 40:1 with not much improvment. The plug has a good color but is wet not oily.

Trans oil is full and doesnt smell like gas.
Coolant is full and isnt discolored.
Carb is at stock setting.
Airfilter is clean.

When I got this 3 wheeler, it was missing the fuel lines and t-fitting. I improvised by using a 3-way PVC breather from NAPA that had 5/16 on each end of the fitting. I know that the stock one has a larger size end for the return line. The float level is still within manual spec and fuel is not being sent out of any of the carb over flows.Could the problem be that the fule pump is forcing too much fuel into the carb?

Keep in mind that it has ran great up until now. It ran rough and fouled a plug one day and hasnt ran right since.
Pics of the plug and trans oil:

That plug does'nt look too bad.

I almost suspect a coil if it has a hard time building the RPM's.

But I do believe, a few guys had problems with the fuel pump getting a pinhole in the clear plastic membranes, and that would allow the jug to suck extra fuel threw the vacumm line to the jug.
You may want to check those 2 items first.
It also seems to me, that a few guys bypassed the T fitting like you, and had problems as well.
Search Tri-Z fuel pump and / or lines, and you may find some clues in those threads.

I havent tested the coil but I wouldnt think that thats the problem because it has a nice blue spark and once the engine clears out it at wot it rips. I also rebuilt the fuel pump with the oem rebulid kit.

Well I really didnt bypass the t fitting but bought one thats not the oem design. I will get some pics of it.

That plug doesnt look bad. Its a tad rich but doesnt sound like your problem to me. You could try raising your needle clip UP one notch and see if it helps..

Heres what Im talking about Mosh. As you can see it has a smaller diameter on the return side than the stock setup.

85tecate, its hard to see in the pic but the plug is wet. It does look like the mixture fairly good. I will try moving the needle clip when and see if that makes a differance. Im also going to buy some good oil too, maybe Klotz?

It just seems funny that it is acting up in such short span of time.

Is there some dirt on your needle valve causing the float to stick? That will cause it to flood too if the float isnt shutting off fuel properly...
