Well, not "new", but you know what I mean. I just picked up an '86 350X and am going to start giving it a little personal touch. First off, I need to replace the head pipe gaskets. The pipe has recently been off, so that's not an issue, but is there anything else I need to know about that procedure. And assuming servicehonda.com is the place to get them?

While that's apart what is a reasonable treatment for that headpipe (don't really want to spend $100 to have it jet coat, or whatever it's called).

Also, one fork seal probably needs some attention, and while I have them apart I'm kicking around having the lowers and triple tree powdercoated gloss black, any input?

Oh, and something else, this renewed interest in 3wheelers has me bringing my old 250SX up to par too. What paint can I use for the steel wheels to make them look like factory?

Congrats on the trike!

Get all the rust off that head-pipe by way of sandblaster, or chemical. Then I would suggest just hooking up with some BBQ pit paint, high temp black, will turn out pretty decent.

Service Honda will have what you need, or should.

Good luck! And post some pics.

Here's what I'm working with. Picked it up from member "T3" in Illinois. It runs strong, just some things I'm gonna change to customize it a little.

I just picked up some high heat paint for the head pipe. Also, through a local sportbike group I have a guy who said he'd do the lowers for free if I had the frame powdercoated, which was my plan anyway.
