84 200x clutch? what's a decent one?

ok before i start assembling the performance 200X motor I have, what's a dcecent clutch for it? I have EBC clutch springs (15% stiffer than stock) but i figure I may as well go ahea dand replace the discs too. I looked on ebay and there's not much on there right now. Tehre's a cheapo for $22 or versah fo $46. I figure if I'm paying $46 why not spend an extra $15 or so and get a decent one. so what's a decent clutch disc set?

oem or barnett,only way to go.all the cheap clutch components will slip.i went versa in a 200e and the dam things wouldnt let me pull sh-t.

sweet! according to them, the steel discs are the only difference between the 83-85 and 86/87 200x models.

them EBC clutch springs are a gimick. I put them in and there softer than the stock ones i had in it!! I was irate!

WERD to that! I ordered a set, they cam in a pack of 5 idk why...(Maybe if you add all 5 of the together they are stiffer than the 4 stock ones. lol) I could tell without putting them in they were SOFTER than stock. I now run a set of heavy Vesrah springs with vesrah clutch disks and have never had a slipping problem.

i would use the complete Barnett set.

I wouldn't use just Barnett clutch disks with a oem basket. You will have lots of wear in the basket that leads to cracking. The Kevlar disks Barnett uses really grab hard.

ANY basket with ANY clutch that gets beat on is gonna get grooved up. I have not seen a broken basket yet aside from meatheads that jam screwdrivers in them to tighten the center nut........

For one, stop running big giant deep lugged tires on 200CC engines, what do you think THAT does to the clutch when you rev it up, dump the clutch and they grab like an SOB?

IDT billet 6061 does the trick, it needs to be a different type of aluminum alloy completely to really hold up and would run 200$ give or take probably.....

90% of people want stuff for peanuts anyway and I hate to be the bad guy, so, good luck.....

I've got about 8 good 86/87 baskets so I'm good until I can't kick it over anymore :D
