Wow, shortline was right. A nicholson suspension 110 frame! I've been looking for a suspension 90/110 frame for a long time and have been searching high and low. A long time trike owner and board member remembed me telling him once years ago, that if he would ever think about getting rid of this frame, to please keep me in mind. Well, he ended up running across a one of a kind racer and was kind enough to remember me. I can't thank him enough. This frame will be truly cherished. I wish I had a large empty room to able to display all my trikes in. This is the 3rd suspension 90/110 on both boards which currently makes it rarer than a Tiger! Now to do some shopping.

Monkey, you made a HUGE mistake! ! ! !
It's a proven FACT, Things in Calicfornia cause cancer. I can't count how many packages I've read with that warning.
Although, now that it's no longer in California it may not be a threat?
Happy building!

i still have it, just looked at it tonite. every time i try to put it together i find that a part is worn out or im missing something. i've been to the point of just unloading all the parts that i've collected twice now but its all still here. i'm thinking of giving it another run but need to get a good axle carrier and axle as the ones i have are no good. at this point i've spent so much on the pieces its hard to spend any more and good deals are all around on ebay but the shipping price drives the cost out of site.
i need to get the axle and carrier cheap and she'll be sitting on wheels, turbo wheels that is:D

Eric, would a stock axle be ok? Let me dig through my spares and see what I can come up with.

11-20-2009, 07:23 PM
brapp, not sure what the us90 carrier looks like. this frame uses the old atc90 or i believe 83 and earlier 110 style carrier.
pat, at this point any axle that has usable splines and threads will do.

Eric, PM me your address again and I'll send you what I can. Do you need anything else other than carrier and axle?

Great find on the suspended atc 90 , 110 frame . Did you get that from Mymint87 here on the forums ? I am trying to buy the fork forks that came off that frame . That is going to be a goog looking bike when you get it built . I bought a Johnson Bandito +3 frame from Shortline10 , plan to build it in a couple of years . I have a 19 month old son , not much time right now . I am just stocking up for the build .

The 90/110 parts seem a little more popular than they once were. I've managed to pick up some neat bits and pieces. The economy has affected things alot. Some people have brought out some real junk for sale. Alot of the good stuff is still locked away since most stuff isn't bringing very good money. There will always be the core few who will always wheel and deal the goodies wether it atc90 or Tigers. LOL The thing is, 90/110s' were out for 10 years before there were 185s or 250rs, but the performance of those trikes stock compared to what you had to do to build a 90/110 pretty much made the 90/110 obsolete. But tinkerers will be tinkerers. And custom cool will always be custom cool. There are still veins or 90/110 goodness out there. Bits and pieces turn up all the time. You just have to be a the right place at the right time and be ready to move. And you have to be patient. And you have to be able to do alot of research and try to find the old ways or the people who were the real gurus. You have to be able to listen and absorb knowledge, cause it's disappearing. Keep looking, but remember, I and 1 or 2 other members are looking too. LOL Good luck with your build. Get busy.

Well the postman left it for PAat in Maryland but it ended up in pa,lmao, It is a neat peice of vintage 90 history and an interesting trike. Some of the moter mounts were busted or missing. So here is an update, built the front mounts and attache to exsisting frame mounts, built the upper mounts and brmone mount to the frame (not shown) and attache d on mount. Need to clean up old welds on ther frame and weld on the right frame mount then I can finish up the upper mounts. Remover the rear flag mount that was so well built I think in could of pulled a Mack truck out of a sand dune, lol.

Right now the frame is sitting behind the early nicholson frame that I've been messing with. I hope to get some more done on it really soon. I need to strip the frame down and spray can it to keep from rusting while I test fit everything. I really need to make some bushings and spacers for the rear shock. May be running again in the next 2 weeks, but it won't be real nice looking. LOL

What did I do now? LOL Bigworm, my last couple girlfriends would not agree with you at all. LOL You guys have been inspiring me to get some stuff done. The only problem is, I have to take vacation to do it. I have some really neat stuff I want to put on this suspension frame. I might be getting an ugly email from the previous owner though!!! He isn't a big fan of the turbo wheels. But I would like to take this trike in the direction of a dune cruiser. I'll let the early nicholson frame be the little beastie. You guys keep turning up the wick and making it tougher to have something a little different. Alot of these trikes would make some really fine dune shooters with all the bling and stuff. Racers, they were a little more rough and ready and not quite as pretty though. LOL I still haven't seen too much on here old school exotic though.

Work on the suspension 110 has stalled out. LOL Between working 12 hour shifts at work and trying to get work done on the dune buggy and trying to get work done on several other projects. I have been thinking about rotating trikes around in the basement and getting going on this trike again though lately. The big thing would be bushings and spacers for the rear shock. I have access to a bead blasting cabinet and an Eastwood powdercoating gun so I can get some of the pieces powder coated now. The swinger shouldn't be a problem, but the frame, it will have to be powdercoated by a professional outfit since it's too big to fit into the oven! LOL The concentration has sort of been on the suspension 70s and the 350x lately, but work has kind of stopped on the 350x as well. I've gotten some goodies in the mail, but those are for seperate threads.

^ I can make you bushings and spacers for your shock; Probably aluminum spacers and a bronze or wearable bushing.
All depends whether it needs to pivot or not...........

Thanks for the offer for the bushings. I've been hoping to try and scare something up at work. The company hadn't gotten any bronze round stock in a while even though it has been ordered. We usually keep some premade bronze bushings in stock, but those haven't been replunished in a while either. And things at work have been crazy, so that doesn't help when the machinists don't have free time. It usually takes a while to show me how to set up the mill, so it usually just ends up being quicker for a machinist to make the parts for me. Since I'm not a trained machinist, there is just too much I don't know and I usually have to get ahold of a machinist to get the right pieces anyway since they seem to hide alot of the tool bit holders and such. We also a couple times have made parts out of plastic to check for fit and such as well. Sometimes I can bring parts in to work on and sometimes I have to rely on just getting measurements and going by that. I do hope to get it put back together even if it's not all pretty...yet. I do want to get this frame powdercoated and make it look as nice as it deserves to be. And I'm really leaning towards putting all my crazy stuff on it too. Like my Johnson electric start kit and probably the turbo wheels. Make it a real dune queen. LOL Sorry Minty. Keep on my case to get it going though. LOL
