I finally got around to taking some pics of my baja light setup that I made for the 250sx. They work well and I really like the way it turned out. Let me hear what you think.

Yes it is. When I first installed the cobra headpipe I didn't like how close it was to the oil line that runs up to the head, so I wrapped it to reduce the amount of radiated heat the oil line sees. I can also tell a big difference on my right leg, plus I think they look cool also.

Ive heard that it increases power too, but on cars or trucks, would it be the same for an ATC?

I've heard that also, but I don't know if it would make a noticable difference or not. I never ran the trike with the cobra exhaust "unwrapped" so I can't say if it helped or not, I do know that my right leg would get hotter riding my 200es than it does riding this 250sx with the pipe wrapped.

Looks perfect. Is the 350x front a direct swap?

I know a 200x front end is a direct swap besides the steering stop
Did you put on a higher output stator to run those massive lights? Looks Sweet!

^ Stators run ignitions, it's the lighting coil guys change but I'm sure he's still got the stocker.
Looks great!!

According to my shop manual the stock light bulb that a 250sx comes with is a dual filament model with one filament being 60 watts (high beam) and the other a 55 watt (low beam). Both of these lights I have on their now are 55 watt models so I am safe. I have one hooked up for high beam and the other for low beam and I have them aimed accordingly. The free form reflectors in these lights do a much better job at utilizing the light from the bulbs than the stock headlight assembly so even though they are roughly the same wattage as the original I get a better lighting "experience", plus I think they just flat out look cooler imo.
88TurboCoupe: The 350x front end does "bolt" right in but you will need to add some steering stops if you don't want the forks and upper triple to slam into your tank, If I ran a plastic tank I would not have put stops on mine, but since I am running a steel tank I welded some stops on the frame to keep the tank from getting dented.

Looks good!!!!
How are they mounted? Did you make the guard?
One thing to keep in mind when using header wrap, It retains moisture and holds heat in the metal causing rust and metal fatigue (makes the pipe brittle). I work for an automotive header company and we refuse warranty on any header that has been wrapped.

Also in reply to a response above. The sx and es have alternators with multiple coils instead of the usual 1 coil like on many other trikes

they look really nice, but I must warn you, the lights you have chosen are NOT a good fit if your trying to do any type of high speed maneuvers at night when you might want some peripheral vision! I tested that very setup last year at the Rasor Rd. Rally. I had no side view, especially in the dunes where there is nothing to reflect any light. Very Scary! I subsequently went back to the stock lights as soon as I got back to camp

Hella has made 2 styles of the 500 driving light, the old style had Hella written in blue on the lens and the new free form style. I don't know if you used the old style or the new style but I can tell you from experience with both that even though they are both "driving" lights they disperse the light differently. I took it out a few days ago at night and hit a trail close to my house and they worked fine my application. I understand what you are saying in regard to there being nothing to reflect light in the dunes however here in florida I don't have any dunes to ride on. The riding I do around is in tight, densly wooded trails and they work fine for that.
Dammit!

The hot setup has always been one driving/spot light and one fog/flood light. I'm hoping to have that setup on my 350x before the next dune ride so I can try it out.

Yes, I don't want to get rid of it but I am always on the lookout for a deal that's too good to pass up. If someone offers me an awesome trade or a fistfull of cash I'll take it but other than that it's staying here with me. In all honesty I probably won't get rid of it but like I said if the offer is good enough everything I have is for sale, except the wife and kids. Stranger things have happend, I put an airboat on there a few years ago for a higher price than I wanted for it and a dude from mississippi drove over and gave me cash.
